Do you ever watch commercials and think, “I want to do that!”  Well, now you can! In this unique one-week class, we’ll teach you what it means to be an actor. Through improv exercises, theater games, film and stage scenes, and mock auditions, students will learn all that goes in to being an actor, from character creation to scene study and beyond. Learning how to make strong character choices, explore the difference between “stage” and “screen” acting, and discover how to switch between the two. As an actor, it is important to understand everyone’s role on a film set, so you will also get the chance to play director and casting associate during a mock audition and/or a short film.

This weeklong intensive camp will include both a performance for parents and a business seminar where parents will learn the “how-to’s” of quickly breaking down scripts with their child and preparing them for an audition.

Teens will enhance their self-expression and observational skills, learn how to prepare a strong audition (in record time), and gain self-confidence, both as individuals and as part of a team. Whether you want to be part of the new “Hollywood East,” or you just want to make new friends and have fun, then this is the summer camp for you!

Jennifer Salvucci is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has been a professional actress and children’s acting coach in the Los Angeles area for six years prior to returning to the Boston area.  She holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Chapman University.
